And herein lies the rub with the whole system. The three branches were set in dynamic tension with self-interest and the desire to preserve their individual power serving as the critical protection. When all the two other branches willingly cede their power to the executive, the whole arrangement collapses. At this point, I cannot see any mechanism on the federal level to effectively reign in the massive abuse of power. Reports have already surfaced that Musk and Trump continue to freeze federal funding despite the judge's injunction against the freeze. Though not yet reported, we can be certain that the injunction against access to the Treasury data is being ignored and that the system and its data continues to be illegally manipulated by Musk and the DOGE babies. I am afraid that until more Americans actually feel the impacts of these changes rather than hearing about them they will remain in freeze mode and lawmakers and the judiciary will continue to capitulate.
