I was speaking with a medical professional the other day and explaining that my diagnosis of ADHD in my 40's was such an "aha" moment. All the symptoms I struggled with for decades made so much more sense. It was a relief to finally understand that my quirks, idiosyncrasies, and challenges were not individual failings but features of the operating system. Assembling a toolbox to leverage the benefits and manage the downsides has made a substantive positive difference. I appreciate reading your story and observations as they remind me this may be an individual journey, but it is not taken alone.
